Friday was an AMAZING day! To be honest, it is one of my favorite days we have at St. Simons Elementary. We started the day with our annual Storybook Character Parade. Here are our classroom participants:
The witch from Room on the Broom...
Hermoine from Harry Potter...
Little Red Riding Hood...
(once)
(and again)...
Amelia Bedelia...
Fancy Nancy...
R2D2 from Star Wars...
Lego Ninja from Ninjago...
Fly Guy...
Iron Man...
Bumblebee from Transformers....
Pirate Pete...
Skippyjon Jones...
The Purple Dragon...
Ninja Boy...
Wolverine...
and the penguins from Hop on Top.
We waited patiently in the hall for our turn.
When we came back,
we took advantage of more photo opts.
The Brunswick News even stopped in!
Our class was featured in Saturday's edition on page 4.
We enjoyed a special treat sent in by our room mom -
thank you Mrs. Roberts!
Finally it was time to go to the Fall Festival.
We had tons of fun jumping on the bouncy houses, playing games, earning prizes, braving the haunted house, and yes...even the dunk tank! Here is the before picture....
and the after video!
We had a picnic lunch on the front lawn with some of the parents who came to volunteer...THANK YOU
for giving your time to our school!
By the end of the day we were exhausted -
but still celebrating the special day.
We made a Witches Brew for our afternoon snack.
Another big THANK YOU to all the families who sent in items for our activity!
Here is the poem I shared with the class as I added in the "ingredients" to the pot...
Before we ate, we did a little sorting, tallying, and used our math vocabulary!
Today was wonderful and fun for all!
I am thankful for an extra hour of sleep this weekend...
Don't forget to move your clocks back!
